Telephone Befriending Service
This service offers informal and social support to people struggling with Macular Degeneration or any central vision loss. Several of our members have been trained by the National Macular Society to be telephone befrienders.
If you need someone to talk to, a listening ear, informal one-to-one support or more information, please contact: Hugh Douglas – 01782 657715
We have a shop at each of our monthly meetings which offers a selection of visual aids which can be viewed or purchased. This shop is run by one of our committee members, Angela Fox, who will offer advice on any of the items.

Skills for Seeing Training
Many eye conditions, such as Macular Degeneration, can lead to the loss of central vision. Skills for Seeing training could help you make the most of your residual vision. It can offer new ways of seeing, which could help you in your daily tasks such as reading, getting about, taking care of yourself, seeing people and watching TV.
We have trained volunteers at our local group who may be able to help you to learn these new techniques. Our volunteers will also help you with lighting advice, using magnifiers, and any other concerns you may have.
